If you were the last woman on earth, who would you choose as the last man?
While most women's answers range from George Clooney to Brad Pitt, when the world ends in a nuclear blast, Louise's bunker mate in the cramped, old fallout shelter isn't the sexy, quick-witted man of her dreams - it's Mark, the creepy guy from the office. You know, the one everyone ridicules behind his back, the person nobody really knows or likes.
Mark, ever prepared for the worst, has all the essentials for surviving a nuclear blast: canned beans, board games, and a knife. All they need to do is wait for the nuclear fallout to clear before venturing outside. Mark claims it'll take two weeks, but as time drags on in his company, Louise starts to suspect that the nuclear holocaust supposedly raging outside might not be real at all - perhaps just something Mark fabricated to keep her attention all to himself.
After the End is a chilling, darkly humorous, and disturbingly timely psychological thriller about the power games people play when confined, stressed, and facing what might be the end of the world.
The play was specially designed for and performed in the bomb shelter space of HABAIT Theater in Jaffa.
