April 2022

"It's five in the morning, and instead of your kid stumbling home from a party, there are police officers in your house, with all his belongings scattered on the floor - everything's there, except him"
The mother of J, a 17-year-old caught in a disturbing situation, is certain her son is a victim of circumstance and misunderstanding. She wages war to defend both his reputation and her own, attempting to piece together the events that shattered her world. But as with any war, while you know how it begins, you never know how it ends.
This one-woman show explores the impossible choices faced by a single mother: the primal instinct to protect her child at any cost versus confronting uncomfortable questions about truth and morality. Through her unique perspective, the play offers an unsettling new lens on sexual assault cases we encounter in daily headlines, revealing the ripple effects of these crimes on families and communities.
